I had to travel back to Taiwan and decided I needed to make something *anything* and not knowing exactly why. I worked furiously, finishing each flower square in 5 straight hours each night, and then making the plain c2c squares because I was ran out of time to make enough flower squares. I flew back to Taiwan, seamed it together at my parents' apartment, and draped it over my dad's hospital bed. It was his wheelchair blanket - he loved the vibrant colors and kept telling me I should do this as a living. After he passed, my mom returned it to me, telling me it was too precious to be buried with him and that I should keep it to remember him. . The whole blanket took 2 weeks, and I still don't understand the black-out urge I had to create it. I've never worked faster or in more panic than this project. This is the era where my photography and design style really kicked in. 7) My first garment was the Summer Diamonds cardigan. It was not graded, but I did include all the math for making size adjustments. 8) After quitting my start-up job and settling in to full time crochet design, I am plucked from the California sunshine and deposited in good ol' New Jersey. Once again, I'm learning a new lighting situation, and navigating this work from home gig. 9) Last year, we purchased a(nother) home which I hope lasts us until the kids go to college because we have too much crap to move, and I officially set up my home office. 10) Just last week, I hit a major milestone by designing my first knit stuffed animal! #SlowandFurriousSloth .
